This geologic abstract is full of vibrant color. It can be hung as a vertical presentation, as shown, or a horizontal presentation. This is my 5th painting in this theme, based on the colorful rock formations, both real and imagined, of the Southwest. Shown in a room setting with a suggested floater frame (not included). The sides are painted black, so it can be hung without a frame.
I have done a number of geologic abstract paintings featuring colorful rock formations. Complexity of the colors is achieved by layering one color on top of another. This can only be done with transparent acrylics, resulting in a shimmering look somewhat similar to pastel.
